This one's got some real history behind it. It turns out "Bride's a Bonnie Thing" is an old Scottish tune that shows up as far back as the McFarlane Manuscript around 1741, and the Shetland Islands latched onto it so tightly that up there it became known simply as "Da Bride's a Bonnie Ting", which was a proper wedding march, played slow and stately with open drones ringing under the melody.
